Dr. Robert Hickman opened his gastroenterology practice in Lynchburg in 1980 after completing medical school at Harvard and his residency and fellowship at Duke. Dr. Hickman partnered with Dr. Charles Catalano three years later in 1983 to form Gastroenterology Associates of Central Virginia.
Since then, our team has grown and our facilities have improved, but our commitment to providing unmatched digestive healthcare to the people of Central Virginia remains. Through our Endoscopy Center, which is accredited by AAAHC, and our Research Division, our providers can explore every care option with their patients and draw on every available resource in pursuit of the highest level of care possible.
