Dr. Robert Hickman opened his gastroenterology practice in Lynchburg in 1980 after completing medical school at Harvard and his residency and fellowship at Duke. Dr. Hickman partnered with Dr. Charles Catalano three years later in 1983 to form Gastroenterology Associates of Central Virginia.
Since then our team has grown and our facilities have improved, but our commitment to providing unmatched digestive healthcare to the people of Central Virginia remains. Our AAAHC accredited Endoscopy Center and Research Division enable our providers to explore every care option with our patients, and exhaust all of our resources in pursuit of the highest level of care possible.
